The ABCs of Skin Care
Your skin is one of the most essential parts of your body, however it is also one of the most often abused. In fact, it is the body organ that gets most affected by the harmful rays of the sun.

While the sun provides many benefits, it however consists of ultraviolet rays that are responsible for many skin problems, including skin cancer. Therefore, knowing how you can protect yourself from the sun is essential in order to avoid or reduce the severity of such problems.
Anybody, regardless of age, can get affected by the sun’s harmful rays. It’s the children, however, who are more at risk because they tend to be out in the playground enjoying the sun during the hottest part of the day.

To prevent your children from getting sunburn, dress them up in dark-colored clothes and clothes that will be able to cover more body areas. It is also a good thing to let your kids wear cotton shirts in order to minimize sunburn. You can also use SunDye to dye your children’s clothes so the sun cannot go through the fabric easily.

If your children are going swimming, there are sun-protective swim wear you can invest in. This kind of swimsuit covers more areas of the body than an ordinary swimsuit.

Also, never let them go out without sunscreen. The entire body, including the feet, must be protected with sunscreen, preferably one that is
SPF 30 or above. Then again, you have to take extra careful when applying sunscreen on your baby’s skin. Baby’s skin is sensitive, so it may be a good idea to apply it in small doses only.  It is recommended to reapply sunscreen every two hours.

Since the lips also get sunburned, you can apply sun sticks or lip balms with sun protection whenever you go out.

Always stay under a shade whenever you are out in the scorching heat. Using an umbrella or a hat can be a good thing. These are just some of the things that you should do to protect you precious skin.
Between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm, cloudy or not, the sun is at its fiercest.

Around this time, it would be best to stay in the comfort of your home or under a shade.

If you are enjoying the day at the beach, you are likely to get sunburn at this time.
